Ian James Corlett voiced the original English dub of Goku in Funimation/Saban’s Dragon Ball Z (1996–1998), as well as Baby Goku in Dragon Ball and Mega Man in Mega Man. Other major anime roles include Miroku in Inuyasha, Gluttony in Fullmetal Alchemist, Taxim in Ronin Warriors, and major characters in Ranma ½, Maison Ikkoku, and the Ocean Group dubs of Death Note, Mobile Suit Gundam, and Black Lagoon.
In the world of Gaming, Corlett is the voice of Sly Cooper’s mentor Bentley the Turtle in all four main Sly Cooper titles, Neuro’s AI partner Proxy in the cult cyberpunk game VA-11 HALL-A, and has lent his talents to franchises such as Ratchet & Clank (President Phyronix Zurkon), Dynasty Warriors (Zhuge Liang, Lu Xun), and the LEGO-themed games (multiple roles). He also voiced Chekov in Star Trek: Starfleet Academy and appeared in numerous EA Sports titles.
On-screen and in traditional animation, he’s known as the original voice of Mr. Cramp in The Cramp Twins and Dad in Being Ian (a semi-autobiographical series he co-created). His long resume also includes Baby Taz in Baby Looney Tunes, Funshine Bear in Care Bears: Adventures in Care-a-Lot, and countless guest roles in My Little Pony: Friendship Is Magic, Dinosaur Train, and Pac-Man and the Ghostly Adventures.
With over 400 credits across three decades, Ian remains one of the most recognizable and versatile voices in North American dubbing and children’s animation. He is also an accomplished author of children’s books and continues to perform, write, and direct from his home base in Vancouver.
